Advertising executives do not have to think hard to make a Valentine's Day Commercial. The average Valentine's Day commercial tries to get a man to buy something for his significant other. A casual observer can figure out the formula easily enough. The casual observer can even use it if they want to produce an ad of their own for the next year.
The entrepreneur who wants to make a commercial needs a product. They must be able to cast the product in a romantic light. It dos not matter if the product was designed to fulfill romantic purposes or not. Coming up with a romantic angle may be difficult, but it is one of the few areas of creativity allowed in Valentine's Day commercials.

Valentine's Day is considered the 'most romantic day of the year', but the origin of the day suggests otherwise.
It was to honor Faunus, Roman God of fertility. The Pagans would honor him by sacrificing a goat for fertility and a dog for purification. They would then slap women with the hides of the goat and dog. Later in the day, the women put their names in an urn. The men would then pick a name and become paired with the woman for a year.

Plenty of Asexuals, regardless of romantic orientation, do not look forward to Valentine's Day. Romantic Asexuals may or may not celebrate the day. If a Romantic Asexual has a partner, they will celebrate the day. The holiday itself may be a holiday perpetuated by the greeting card industry, but women everywhere have come to expect gifts. Some men have come to expect gifts as well.

Chris Donaghue believes that dating will turn this woman sexual. Donaghue, who is the Ask the Expert segment author for Logo's NewNowNext failed to consider the existence of Asexuality on this segment that aired at the end of January. Donaghue's dangerous advice on experimentation mirrors the advice giving to many Gay and Lesbian individuals that they should marry or at least try Heterosexual intercourse to see if the activity will cure their innate orientation.
