Acephobia

Acephobia and Asexophobia are the Asexual equivalents of Homophobia. Although neither of these words have gained any official recognition outside of the Asexual community, the words are easy enough to dissect. The terms refer to fear of Asexuals and Asexuality. Examples of this can be found, although the term itself is somewhat misleading. Even people who use the term homophobia are often refer to acts motivated by hatred.

Yes No I honestly don't believe in acephobia. Appropriating homophobia and just adding "ace", doesn't make it at all comparable.

What we face is ignorance but what we don't face is the immense hatred felt by members of LBBT community. Where HOMOPHOBIA really leads to violence from homophobes.
Honestly, I'm sometimes embarrassed by the behavior and ideas of the asexual community.
WE SHOULD TAKE CARE OF OUR PROBLEMS. OUR PROBLEMS OF ERASURE AND MISUNDERSTANDIN G. Not busy trying to play super major victims of systemic abuse. We're not.

Yes No Personally, I disagree with ace's comment. There are asexuals who face violence and are even victims of "corrective rape". I personally do not see why oppression and abuse needs to be relative or a contest. We are also exposed to a unique form of rape culture which says that sex is owed to a partner or is an essential part of expressing love.

We don't face hatred at a larger scale because, to be honest, we almost don't exist. There aren't many people who know of it to be able tohate us.
The abuse of one minority shouldn't invalidate that of another simply because "they have it worse".

Yes No Attachement I agree with Ken. Acephobia certainly does exist. Maybe not on the same scale as homophobia, I'll admit, but Aces can still have it pretty bad.

Yes No bored privileged white people looking for a reason to feel oppressed. F*ckin' spare me. Wahh, people call me weird. I guess I'm "oppressed" now. Big f'n deal, you still have all of your legal rights, so stfu.

Reminder... Yes No Janna has the same rights to post her opinion that we give to to all posters. There's no need to report her post, although you are free to disagree with her stance all you want.

Janna also needs to remember this section is simply to explain terms and definitions used among asexuals.
