No, Asexual men aren't gay. If they were, they wouldn't be Asexual. In other words, gay men are sexually attracted to other men, Asexual men aren't sexually attracted to anyone. Granted, some Asexual men are homoromantic, but aren't (technically) gay since the sexual attraction isn't there.
Author's note: Technically is in parenthesis since some homoromantic Asexual men may choose to identify as gay Asexuals.

A person who has just identified as Asexual may not know what the Oppression Olympics are. Even people who have never heard the phrase may find themselves caught up in such an argument. Oppression Olympics is a fancy word for a simple idea.
The phrase refers to a tendency of minority groups to argue about who has it worse. Activists find this behavior problematic because it detracts from serious issues that each group may face. It also prevents different groups united under a single umbrella from achieving common goals. (News sites catering to a specific community may perpetuate this problem. News sites tend to focus on problems).
There are times when one minority will ignore the rights of the other for political expediency, but this happens rarely. It often touches debate between the groups where it occurs. (The most recent examples are the transgender protections getting removed from ENDA and the case of the bisexual players who were removed from a Gay softball team for not being gay).

Quite simply: No. To expand on that: Asexuality is a sexual orientation, just like Heterosexuality, Homosexuality, Bisexuality or Pansexuality-minus the sexual attraction.
Individual Asexuals of course, have their own health issues, just as sexual people also have health issues, but Asexuality isn't of itself, a health problem.

Something that doesn't get much mention in the Asexual community is sapioromanticism. Which is a shame really, because when romantic orientation is mentioned in the Ace community, it's either aromanticism, biromanticism, heteroromanticism, homoromanticism or panromanticism. As such, Aces may define their romantic orientation as one of the aforementioned ones, when none of those really fit. Or, at least, none on their own.

Can hormonal imbalance cause any other sexual orientation? If your answer to that is no, then there's your answer to that question.
In other words, Asexuality is just as natural as any other sexual orientation.
