Although Asexual News focuses on news of interests the Asexual community, there has been some speculation that the site should cover basic information about Asexuality as well. Many other sites already cover the Asexuality 101 topics. I did not feel the need to repeat them. Other sites also cover these topics better. AVEN is usually the first starting point for a person who is Asexual.

While these sites do a better job of the task of explaining Asexuality to people, people do come to our website seeking basic information about Asexuals. The resources on the top menu bar will provide a better starting point for people seeking this information.

A long story as to how I finally realized I'm Ace

It was a long road to finally figure out that I am, in fact, Asexual. You see, growing up, I never knew anyone who was Gay, Lesbian or Bi, never mind Asexual. As such, for the longest time, I just figured I was straight & thought everyone else was as well. It wasn't until high school that I started questioning whether I actually was straight & that wasn't until grade 10. It was in grade 9 that I became sexually aroused for the first time (and due to the fact that I repeated a grade & the fact that my birthday is more or less a month into the school year), I was nearly 15 when that happened.
