Max Adler, Glee Star, Talks About Cyber Bullying and LGBT Suicide

Glee decided to tackle cyber bullying as it relates to the LGBT community. Access Hollywood interviewed Max Adler to gain his thoughts on the matter. Adler plays David Karofsky, the bully of Kurt.

The star commented on the growing trend and how technology makes it easier. People no longer use the face-to-face confrontation method according to the actor. Now, they can make someone feel uncomfortable with the click of a button. Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and Tumblr and other social networking sites allow anonymity that can make the attacks on an individual worse.

Asexuals have taken issue with Fox’s musical dramedy in the past. “Sexy” characterized people who choose not to have sex as naive, but the shows has a large gay and lesbian audience. Members of the cast normally do a much better job addressing LGBT issues.

Fox producers wanted to make a powerful statement about bullying and suicide. Glee fans can decide whether or not they have succeeded in this goal. Producers of a different Fox show, which will film its last episode later this year, did far more damage to Asexual visibility than the producers of Glee ever could.
