Blogger Roy Steele organizes boycott against vendors using Christian Values Network

Roy Steele, a gay activist and blogger, has responded to calls from Conservative Christian groups to target  Old Navy and other chains that sold LGBT pride t-shirts in June. Steele, who writes for the Tie-dyed Jive in the 415 blogger blog wants to organize a boycott against retailers that participate in the Christian Values Network.

Retailers often sell goods through the Christian Values Network. The organization donates some of the money it receives from the retailers to groups such as Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council. Both groups have engaged in anti-gay politics and have actively campaigned against same-sex marriage.

Roy Steele blogs about his progress in contacting the companies and provides a list of the companies that deal with the Christian Values Network. He hopes to organize picket lines in front of many of the more prominent retailers in the list, according to a press release he has published on Tie Dyed in the 415.
