Philadlephia's SEPTA may be giving transgender riders a hard time when boarding buses

MTFs and FTMs in Philadelphia have had a hard time boarding South Eastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority system's Buses. Septa provides bus service and Philadelphia and four other counties. Passengers with a bus pass must have male or female stamps placed on the card. The stamp is there to prevent couples from sharing a pass to ride the bus.

The policy has been in place since 1981. Activists have fought to change it, but SEPTA has refused to change to another system to prevent spouses from sharing the same pass.
