California students must now learn LGBT history. The new history will likely not include the history of the Asexual community, but a community that is not quite a decade old has not had time to contribute. Soon after Jerry Brown signed the bill into law, a conservative Christian Group calling itself Capitol Resources began efforts to repeal the law, according to On Top Magazine.

Man turned away from blood bank because he looked gay

Men who have sex with men may be rejected from blood donation centers because of an FDA regulation preventing any man who has had sex with another man in the past 35 years from donating blood. The screening procedures do not reject gay men for appearing homosexual. Aaron Pace of Gary, Indiana has cause to disagree with that statement.
Pace went through the normal screening procedures at Bio-Blood Components. Staff rejected him because he appeared to be a homosexual despite his claims to the contrary, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Deseret News falls for Southern Baptist Convention Marriage Equality Hoax

The Deseret News reported that the Southern Baptist Convention came out in favor of Gay marriage. Other news outlets around the country received the same press release. The press release gave recipients a number to call, according to the Bilerico Project. People who answered the number claimed to be staffers or Interns for the organization when asked.

Ari Gold asked to move to back of bus for holding partner's hand

A gay couple in New York was recently asked by a bus driver to go to the back of the bus if they wanted to continue to hold hands, according to LGBTQ Nation.
Ari Gold, an entertainer who is openly gay was riding in a Shortline bus with his partner. The driver involved a New York State trooper in after Gold refused to give up his seat. The trooper, whose name was not released, told the driver that the couple was not committing any crime. The Short Line bus continued on its way shortly afterward.

Connecticut passes Transgender anti-discrimination law

Last week, Connecticut passed a law that expanded anti-discrimination protection to transgender individuals. Dannel Malloy, the democratic governor of the state, signed the bill into law earlier last week. The new law would add the wording “gender identity and expression”, according to LGBTQ Nation.
