Asexuals have eagerly waited for the release of Anthony F. Boegart’s new book, Understanding Asexuality. The book is one of the first books to look at the academic issues surrounding Asexuality exclusively. Other books from academic sources have touched upon the subject, but they are often taking an in-depth look at other topics.
Two Personality Disorder Workgroup Members Defect From DSM-5 Workgroup

Two members of the DSM-5 personality disorders workgroup resigned earlier this summer. Roel Verheul and John Livesley wrote a letter of resignation that expressed their concerns. Doctor Allen Frances, the head of the DSM-IV task force, published parts of the letter in one of his recent Psychology Today blog posts.
Frances has criticized the process used to create the new edition of the DSM-5 severely. The British Psychological Society and part of the American Psychological Association joined in his condemnation of the new edition. ABC News released a story revealing that 90% of the members of the DSM-5 committee had ties to drug companies.

Asexual Conference at Worldpride 2012

Worldpride 2012 will be held this July in London. The event will feature an Asexual conference with guest speakers David Jay and Nat Tittman. Jay founded AVEN, and Tittman is the founder of the Livejournal Asexuality community.

Bare Ink -- New Play to Feature Asexual Character

An amateur playwright recently started a kickstarter campaign Bar Ink. It features an Asexual tattoo artist who develops an unusual relationship with a client. The author of the play describes tattooing as an intimate and erotic art form.
